Our Story

I have always been on this path-even when I didn't realize it. Life has a way of leading us exactly where we are meant to be, and after many twists, turns, and lifetimes, I find myself home. My name, Ginger, carries two meanings that resonate deeply with my soul: root, a nod to the powerful, healing spice and a reflection of my deep connection to the earth, and vitality, embodying the warmth, energy, and passion that fuel my journey. My mother may not have known the significance of my name when she chose it, but I believe there are no coincidences-only callings waiting to be answered.

Healing runs through my lineage, woven into my ancestry like the roots of an ancient tree. My given surname, once bestowed upon my ancestors for their work as healers of their time, now serves as a reminder of the wisdom that flows through my bloodline. Healing runs through my lineage, woven into my ancestry like the roots of an ancient tree. My given surname, once bestowed upon my ancestors for their work as healers of their time, now serves as a reminder of the wisdom that flows through my bloodline. I was always meant to walk this path. Now l embrace it fully as a certified herbalist, teacher, and guide sharing the old ways in a modern world that has forgotten how to listen to the whispers of the Earth.

Before Rising Roots Remedies was born my journey to healing had to begin with myself. I spent 17 years as a pharmacy technician standing on my feet for long hours as I tended to the endless stream of people searching for relief in the form of a prescription. Day after day, I watched as medications were handed out, often treating symptoms rather than addressing the root cause. I too fell into the same cycle. I was going to doctors, taking whatever was prescribed, and waiting for healing to come.

But instead of feeling better, I felt worse. My body grew sluggish, my mind clouded, and my spirit dulled. High cholesterol, creeping weight gain, and the looming threat of type 2 diabetes became my wake-up call. Something had to change.

It was then that I stumbled upon "Spontaneous Healing" by Dr. Andrew Weil. That particular book opened a door I never knew existed. This was my moment of awakening. It was the realization that healing is not just about treating the body, but also nurturing the mind and spirit. I began to listen to my body, to nature, and to the wisdom of the plants. I stepped away from the fluorescent lights of the pharmacy and into the golden glow of the sun. Grounding myself in the soil, walking barefoot in my garden, breathing deeply at the ocean's edge, and reconnecting with the rhythms of the earth. I cleansed my body with whole nourishing foods from my own hands, infused my days with herbal remedies, honored my need for rest, and embraced movement as a celebration of life. Meditation, breathwork, yoga, and Qigong became sacred practices, guiding me back to myself. I sought out healers who understood the balance between Eastern and Western medicine and who saw the whole person, not just a list of symptoms.

With every small change I reclaimed my well-being. And with every step forward, I knew I had to share this knowledge with others. Rising Roots Remedies was born from this passion and the belief that healing is not just something we seek, but something we cultivate within ourselves.

Nature has always provided us with what we need; we just have to remember how to receive it. So here I stand, humbled and grateful, ready to teach, to heal, and to inspire. Let's honor ourselves with self-love and care to the mind, body, and spirit. Let's reconnect with the earth's wisdom, embracing Gaia's gifts in all forms: tinctures, infused oils, salves, nourishing foods, herbal cocktails, and the simple yet powerful act of raising a cup of tea in gratitude. Together, let's toast to our collective well-being, to the journey of healing, and to the deep-rooted wisdom that connects us all.

With love and light,

Ginger, Founder of Rising Roots Remedies
